Burden and cost of communicable, maternal, perinatal and nutrition deficiency diseases in India

Jeetendra Yadav et al.

Summary: This study examined the disease burden and treatment cost for communicable, maternal, perinatal and nutritional disorders (CMPND) in India for 2017. The findings showed that perinatal conditions and nutritional deficiency disorders were the leading causes of high DALYs in India. Public healthcare facilities need to be strengthened to provide timely, affordable, and cost-effective treatment, and advocacy efforts should be made to raise awareness and reduce the burden and treatment expenditure for CMPNDs in India.
