First Measurement of Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering on Argon

D. Akimov et al.

Summary: We present the first measurement of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) on argon using a liquid argon detector at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Spallation Neutron Source. Two independent analyses support CEvNS over the background-only null hypothesis with more than 3 sigma significance. The measured cross section, averaged over the incident neutrino flux, is (2.2 +/- 0.7) x 10(-39) cm(2)-consistent with the standard model prediction, confirming the existence of the CEvNS process and providing improved constraints on nonstandard neutrino interactions.

Constraints on Elastic Neutrino Nucleus Scattering in the Fully Coherent Regime from the CONUS Experiment

H. Bonet et al.

Summary: In this study, the CONUS detectors at the Brokdorf nuclear power plant in Germany were used to measure the coherent elastic scattering of electron antineutrinos emitted from a reactor off germanium nuclei, determining an upper limit of 85 neutrino events at a 90% confidence level. The results disfavor quenching parameters above 0.27.

Large-size sub-keV sensitive germanium detectors for the CONUS experiment

H. Bonet et al.

Summary: The Conus experiment aims to detect elastic neutrino scattering using Germanium detectors, facing the challenge of registering tiny recoil energies of a few keV. The experiment demonstrates excellent performance and long-term stability of the detectors under laboratory and reactor site conditions.

Germanium response to sub-keV nuclear recoils: A multipronged experimental characterization

J. Collar et al.

Summary: The study found a significant deviation of the quenching factor in Germanium detectors for low-energy nuclear recoils from the predictions of the Lindhard model, potentially impacting future research. The results suggest discrepancies in energy ranges that have not been extensively explored, indicating possible implications for upcoming searches.
