Experimental Findings and Validation on Torsional Behaviour of Fibre-Reinforced Concrete Beams: A Review

Paul Oluwaseun Awoyera et al.

Summary: This study reviewed the torsional behavior of different forms of fiber reinforced concrete and found that factors such as mixing, orientation, and volume of fibers, size of coarse particles, aspect ratio of fibers, and stiffness of fibers all affect the torsional strength. Furthermore, further research is needed to explore the application of fibers in recycled self-consolidating concrete for greener construction.

Performance evaluation of fiber-reinforced concrete produced with steel fibers extracted from waste tire

Oezer Zeybek et al.

Summary: With the increasing number of waste tires, their disposal has become a serious environmental problem. This study explores the use of recycled steel fibers from waste tires to produce fiber-reinforced concrete. It is found that the mechanical properties of the concrete improve with an increase in the volume fraction of steel fibers. However, workability decreases significantly when the steel fiber content exceeds 2%.

Investigation of the effect of bagasse ash, hooked steel fibers and glass fibers on the mechanical properties of concrete

Arun Kumar Parashar et al.

Summary: The study investigates the enhancement of mechanical properties of concrete by partially substituting the binder with bagasse ash, and adding hooked steel fibers and glass fibers. The results show that improvements were observed up to 10% bagasse ash replacement, with a subsequent decrease in strength. Optimum strength enhancements were achieved for BA10, BASF-C, and BAGF-C specimens.

Comprehensive study on performance of glass fibers-based concrete

Nerella Ruben et al.

Summary: In this study, alkali-resistant glass fibers were used as an additive to improve the performance of concrete, showing positive effects on workability and mechanical properties while negatively impacting fresh properties. Furthermore, the addition of glass fibers also facilitated the formation of a dense surface on the concrete.
