Predictive Tracking Under Persisten Disturbances and Data Errors Using H2 FIR Approach

Yuriy Shmaliy et al.

Summary: This article presents a robust predictor for industrial processes that ensures performance even under unspecified impacts and data errors. The predictor is tested in predictive tracking of a moving robot using ultrawideband technology, and it is found to be more robust than other predictors in various noise conditions.

Uncertain disturbed systems: Robust H2-OUFIR filtering under measurement errors

Juan J. Lopez Solorzano et al.

Summary: This article focuses on uncertain disturbed systems in linear discrete-time state-space with initial and measurement errors. It introduces a novel bias-constrained a posteriori H2$$ {H}_2 $$ optimal unbiased finite impulse response (OUFIR) state observer and a suboptimal bias-constrained H2$$ {H}_2 $$-FIR filtering algorithm using linear matrix inequality. The proposed OUFIR state observer achieves a better tradeoff between accuracy and robustness compared to other filters, verified by an example of an uncertain system and error matrices.

Robust H2-OFIR Filtering: Improving Tracking of Disturbed Systems Under Initial and Data Errors

Jorge A. Ortega-Contreras et al.

Summary: In this article, a novel approach is proposed to develop a robust H-2-OFIR filter for disturbed systems under initial and measurement errors. It is shown that the proposed filter outperforms other filters in terms of accuracy and robustness in GPS-based tracking of moving vehicles.

Reduced Order Positive Filter Design for Positive Uncertain Discrete-Time Linear Systems

Amanda Spagolla et al.

Summary: This letter investigates the problems of reduced order H-2 and H-infinity positive filter design for positive uncertain discrete-time linear systems. It proposes new LMI conditions which treat the filter matrices as variables, solving the issue of not being able to obtain optimal filters through standard LMI methods under the positivity constraint.

Sparse Sensing and Optimal Precision: An Integrated Framework for H2/H∞ Optimal Observer Design

Vedang M. Deshpande et al.

Summary: This letter proposes a method to determine the optimal sensor precision and observer gain to achieve specified accuracy in state estimates, parameterizing the scaling of exogenous inputs corresponding to sensor noise to achieve sparseness. The optimization is conducted with constraints guaranteeing specified accuracy in state estimates, defined in terms of H-2 or H-infinity norms of the error dynamics. The results are applied to the linearized longitudinal model of an F-16 aircraft.

Robust Kalman Filtering With Probabilistic Uncertainty in System Parameters

Sunsoo Kim et al.

Summary: In this letter, a robust Kalman filtering framework is proposed for systems with probabilistic uncertainty in system parameters. The uncertainty is propagated using conditional expectations and polynomial chaos expansion framework, showing better performance in terms of estimation error and rate of convergence compared to existing robust filters.
