Screening Esophagogastroduodenoscopy Before Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy: Results in 819 Patients

Summary: The study evaluated the findings of preoperative EGD in LSG candidates and found that at least one abnormal finding was detected in 65% of asymptomatic patients, impacting medical and surgical strategy in some cases. The rate of patients starting medical acid-suppression treatment in the preoperative period was 38% based on endoscopic findings.
