Measurement of the W boson mass

R. Aaij et al.

Summary: The mass of the W boson is measured using collision data from the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. By simultaneously fitting the distributions of muon momenta in W->mu y decays and the phi* distribution in Z->mu mu decays, the mass of the W boson is determined. The measurement takes into account various sources of uncertainties. The result agrees well with the prediction from the global electroweak fit and previous measurements.

High-precision measurement of the W boson mass with the CDF II detector

Summary: This study measured the mass of the W boson and compared it with the expectation of the standard model of particle physics. The results show a significant discrepancy between the measured value and the expectation.

Unified explanation of the anomalies in semileptonic B decays and the W mass

Marcel Alguero et al.

Summary: The discrepancies between the measurements of rare (semi)leptonic B decays and the corresponding Standard Model predictions suggest the existence of new physics. This paper highlights the importance of the mixing between the SM Z boson and the heavy neutral gauge boson Z' in explaining the B data. It is found that a mixing of appropriate size can provide a unified explanation for the B anomalies and the tension in the W mass.

Global analysis of electroweak data in the Standard Model

J. de Blas et al.

Summary: In this study, a global fit of electroweak data within the Standard Model is performed using state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical results. Indirect determinations for all parameters and predictions for all observables are presented. The compatibility of experimental data with the Standard Model is discussed in detail.

Interdependence of the new MUON G-2 result and the W-boson mass

Emanuele Bagnaschi et al.

Summary: The electroweak sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model can explain a variety of experimental results, including the discrepancy between the experimental result and the Standard Model prediction for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. By taking into account the new experimental result, the mass of the W boson in the MSSM can be predicted up to certain values. Future measurements at the ILC could help distinguish between different MSSM scenarios.

Top, Higgs, diboson and electroweak fit to the Standard Model effective field theory

John Ellis et al.

Summary: The search for effective field theory deformations of the Standard Model is conducted through a global approach in the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory. The analysis includes constraints on the coefficients of SMEFT operators and explores specific ultra-violet completions of the Standard Model, but does not find significant evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model.

EWPD in the SMEFT to dimension eight

Tyler Corbett et al.

Summary: The study calculates corrections to LEP electroweak precision data using the geometric formulation of SMEFT. Results are reported in interpolation tables allowing interpretation of data as dimension eight for the first time. Neglecting dimension-eight SMEFT corrections introduces a theoretical error in studies, with preliminary findings showing the impact on LEP observables.
