Recent progress in the carbon-based frameworks for high specific capacity anodes/cathode in lithium/sodium ion batteries

Xu Li et al.

Summary: Recent research has focused on developing electrode materials for secondary-ion batteries to achieve high energy and power densities. Carbon materials have been identified as suitable host frameworks for loading high specific capacity anode/cathode materials, with factors such as specific surface area and pore volume affecting their electrochemical performance. By increasing binding sites for polysulfides and inhibiting dendrite growth, as well as designing the pore structure to shorten Li+/Na+ diffusion paths, the cycling life and rate performance of batteries can be improved. DFT calculations and simulations are utilized to design carbon frameworks and predict their electrochemical performance.
