Emergent non-Abelian gauge theory in coupled spin-electron dynamics

The authors derive effective equations of motion under a constraint that restricts the quantum state of the electron system to a low-energy subspace corresponding to the spin configuration at a given time. The resulting low-energy theory takes the form of a non-Abelian gauge theory, and the holonomic constraint introduces a gauge-covariant spin-Berry curvature tensor. The authors demonstrate the efficacy of their approach with numerical calculations.
