Antisite defect qubits in monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides

Jeng-Yuan Tsai et al.

Summary: The study identifies suitable defect centers in two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides and assesses their potential as solid-state spin qubits through high-throughput simulations. The authors show that these atomically thin materials offer a new platform for scalable qubit fabrication and operation at room temperature. The presence of neutral antisite defects in the transition metal dichalcogenides is found to enable controllable spin qubits with a paramagnetic triplet ground state.

Excitonic Dynamics in Janus MoSSe and WSSe Monolayers

Ting Zheng et al.

Summary: This study reports the excitonic dynamics of Janus transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers, showing that excitons in Janus structures form faster and have significantly longer radiative recombination lifetime compared to pristine samples. These results provide fundamental insight into the optical properties of Janus transition metal dichalcogenides.

Spin Hall effect in the monolayer Janus compound MoSSe enhanced by Rashba spin-orbit coupling

Sheng-Bin Yu et al.

Summary: Janus MoSSe monolayer exhibits significant spin Hall conductivity, which can be significantly tuned by adjusting the Fermi level or external strains. The spin Hall conductivity in the valence bands is comparable to that of MoS2 and MoSe2, while in the conduction bands, it is enhanced by two orders of magnitude due to strong Rashba SOC.

Raman spectrum of Janus transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers WSSe and MoSSe

Marko M. Petric et al.

Summary: Janus transition metal dichalcogenides exhibit additional features compared to ordinary TMDs, and Raman spectroscopy is crucial in monitoring synthesis processes. The study of Janus monolayers' Raman spectra is essential for assessing crystal quality and defect concentration.
