Quantitative analysis of three-dimensional left ventricular global strain using coronary computed tomography angiography in patients with heart failure: Comparison with 3T cardiac MR

Rui Wang et al.

Summary: The study compared the performance of CCTA and CMR in measuring LV global myocardial strain in heart failure patients, finding that CCTA-derived 3D-GLS can serve as a reliable alternative to CMR with good intra-observer agreement. Close correlations were observed between the two modalities for LV global strain measurements.

Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Mapping and Strain Assessment for the Diagnosis of Cardiac Involvement in Idiopathic Inflammatory Myopathy Patients With Preserved Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction

Yue Wang et al.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the role of CMR mapping and strain analysis in identifying cardiac involvement in IIM patients with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction. Results showed that IIM patients had significantly higher native T1, ECV, T2 values, and reduced global strain values compared to healthy controls. Native T1, ECV, T2 values, and global strain values may be promising for detecting subclinical myocardial involvement in IIM patients.

Tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion for the evaluation of right ventricular function in functional cardiac CT compared to MRI

K. Newman et al.

Summary: This study compared the estimation of ejection fraction by TAPSE using cardiac CT and MRI with the reference standard of volumetric quantification of RVEF by cardiac MRI. The results showed that CT-TAPSE was moderately correlated with CT-RVEF and MR-RVEF, and a multiplication factor of 2.7 resulted in the lowest bias between CT-TAPSE and MR-RVEF.
