Haze in Pluto's atmosphere: Results from SOFIA and ground-based observations of the 2015 June 29 Pluto occultation

Michael J. Person et al.

Summary: On 29 June 2015, the occultation by Pluto of a bright star was observed from multiple ground-based stations and the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA). Analysis of the data shows that there has been no significant expansion or contraction of Pluto's middle atmosphere, and a haze component is required to reproduce the observed light curves, affecting the understanding of the atmosphere's photochemistry.

Photometry of Kuiper belt object (486958) Arrokoth from New Horizons LORRI

Jason D. Hofgartner et al.

Summary: On January 1st, 2019, the New Horizons spacecraft flew by the classical Kuiper belt object ArMkoth, analyzing its geometric albedo and presenting maps of its normal reflectance and hemispherical albedo. Arrokoth's properties suggest it is a cold classical Kuiper belt object, with a bilobate shape and consistent reflectance distributions between the two lobes. The average hemispherical albedo of ArMkoth is 0.063 at 610 nm.

Gaia Early Data Release 3 The astrometric solution

L. Lindegren et al.

Summary: Gaia EDR3 provides full astrometric data for 1.468 billion sources, including 585 million with five-parameter solutions and 882 million with six parameters, as well as mean positions at J2016.0 for an additional 344 million sources. Five-parameter solutions are generally more accurate and available for 93% of sources brighter than the 17th magnitude, with median uncertainties of 0.02-0.03 mas for parallax and proper motion at G = 9-14, and around 0.5 mas at G = 20. Extensive characterization of the solutions' statistical properties is provided, including the estimated angular power spectrum of parallax bias from quasars.
