Do we predict upcoming speech content in naturalistic environments?

Evelien Heyselaar et al.

Summary: The study suggests that predictive processing can occur in everyday communication when referents are situated in joint attentional space. While robust anticipatory eye movements were observed in experiments conducted in naturalistic scenes, the anticipatory effect disappeared when referents were located outside the joint attentional space.
