Yonarolide A, an unprece dente d furanobutenolide-containing norcembranoid derivative formed by photoinduced intramolecular [2+2] cycloaddition

Yeqing Du et al.

Summary: Eight polycyclic furanobutenolide-containing norcembrane diterpenoids featuring C19 frameworks ( 1 -8 ) were isolated from the Hainan soft coral Sinularia sp. using HSQC-based small molecule accurate recognition technology. The structure of yonarolide A ( 1a ), a transformed product of compound 1 under indoor natural light, was determined to be a [2 + 2] cycloaddition product by photochemical reaction. X-ray diffraction analysis was used to determine the absolute stereochemistry of 1a and three known norcembrane diterpenoids, as well as to revise the structure of scabrolide B ( 2 ).

5-epi-Sinuleptolide from Soft Corals of the Genus Sinularia Exerts Cytotoxic Effects on Pancreatic Cancer Cell Lines via the Inhibition of JAK2/STAT3, AKT, and ERK Activity

Wan-Chi Tsai et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that 5-epi-Sinuleptolide exhibits anti-pancreatic cancer potential by inhibiting cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis, and suppressing invasion. The mechanism involves the inhibition of JAK2/STAT3, AKT, and ERK phosphorylation. This suggests a new therapeutic approach for pancreatic cancer treatment.
