Inclusive weak-annihilation decays and lifetimes of beauty-charmed baryons

Imbalanced beauty-charmed baryons Xi(+,0)(bc) bc are of great significance to the development of heavy flavor physics. This study examines the inclusive weak-annihilation decays of Xi(+,0)(bc) and the impact on their lifetimes. The calculations are done within the heavy diquark effective theory, which allows for the construction of the operator product expansion. The results show that both the lifetimes and the branching ratios of Xi(+,0)(bc) are highly sensitive to the spin of the bc diquark in Xi(+,0)(bc). The study also presents results for Xi(+,0)(bc) -> X-cd decays. Experimental searches for Xi(0)(bc) at the LHC should focus on exclusive decays such as Xi(+)(bc) -> D(*)+ Lambda, Xi(+)(bc) -> Lambda(+)(c) (K) over bar ((*)0), Xi(+)(bc) -> D(*)+ K(-)p, and Xi(+)(bc) -> D-0 (K) over bar ((*)0), as they have longer lifetimes and larger branching ratios compared to Xi(0)(bc) -> D(0)pK(-).

In this work, we study the inclusive weak-annihilation decays of Xi(+,0)(bc) and their contributions to the Xi(+,0)(bc) lifetimes. For the calculation of the inclusive Xi(+,0)(bc) -> X-cs decay width where X-cs stands for the sum of the final states with charm number thorn 1 and strange number -1, we work in the heavy diquark effective theory, which provides us with a convenient technical tool to construct the operator product expansion. The Xi(+,0)(bc) is considered to be a superposition of two states with one containing a spin-0 bc diquark and the other one containing a spin-1 bc diquark. It is found that both the Xi(+,0)(bc) lifetimes and the Xi(+,0)(bc) -> X-cs branching ratios are very sensitive to the bc spin in Xi(+,0)(bc). Xi(+,0)(bc) -> X-cd results are also presented. As Xi(+)(bc) has a longer lifetime than Xi(0)(bc) and bigger branching ratios of similar decay channels, the exclusive decays Xi(+)(bc) -> D(*)+ Lambda, Xi(+)(bc) -> Lambda(+)(c) (K) over bar ((*)0,) Xi(+)(bc) -> D(*)+ K(-)p, and Xi(+)(bc) -> D-0 (K) over bar ((*)0) are more promising for experi-mental searches of Xi(0)(bc) at the LHC comparing with exclusive decay Xi(0)(bc) -> D(0)pK(-).
