Research progress on selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts for NOx removal from coal-fired flue gas

Shilin Zhao et al.

Summary: This study comprehensively discusses SCR catalysts with different supports, including their preparation method, composition, deNOx ability, etc. The findings show that metal-based SCR catalysts have good performance in both high and low-temperature deNOx, carbon material as a carrier can enhance deNOx ability, and minerals-based SCR catalysts have good deNOx capacity at medium to low temperature. The good distribution of active elements, chemical adsorption, acid sites, and surface pore structure are crucial for the deNOx ability of catalysts.

Dual-Site Cooperation for High Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation Activity of MnO2 in Biphasic MnOx-CeO2 Catalyst Using Aerial O2 in the Vapor Phase

Tanmoy Mazumder et al.

Summary: The study found that the oxidation ability of MnO2 phase is more than 7 times higher than that of CeO2, and the benzyl alcohol oxidation rate over MnO2 in 10% MnOx-CeO2 catalyst is increased by 13 times. The role of CeO2 in the catalytic process mainly enhances the adsorption capacity of benzyl alcohol.

Investigation of the NO reduction by CO reaction over oxidized and reduced NiOx/CeO2 catalysts

Kyung-Min Lee et al.

Summary: CeO2-supported NiOx catalysts were studied in various catalytic reactions, with a focus on the impact of catalyst synthesis conditions on their physicochemical properties and catalytic response. Results showed that higher reduction temperature led to decreased specific surface area, fewer oxygen vacancy sites, larger crystallite size, and metallic Ni formation. The oxidized catalyst exhibited the highest catalytic activity, potentially due to the presence of oxygen vacancy sites, Ni2+ oxidation state, and smaller crystallite size. In situ DRIFTS confirmed the generation of intermediate species, supporting the proposed reaction mechanism for NO reduction by CO over NiOx/CeO2.
