Reduced Root Secretion of Valine in Rosa-Microbe Interaction Contributes to the Decreased Colonization of Pathogenic Agrobacterium tumefaciens

Lin Chen et al.

Summary: Root exudates from rose plants play a crucial role in inhibiting colonization of Agrobacterium tumefaciens in the rhizosphere. Preinoculation with beneficial bacteria or pathogens can affect the secretion of amino acids in the root exudates, subsequently reducing the colonization and disease severity caused by Agrobacterium. This study sheds new light on the root exudate-mediated interactions between rose plants, B. velezensis, and A. tumefaciens, offering a potential strategy to control crown gall disease.

Biological control of Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium equiseti in Vicia faba with broad spectrum antifungal plant-associated Bacillus spp.

Imen Haddoudi et al.

Summary: Bacillus strains have shown potential in controlling fungal infections in Vicia faba, with certain strains exhibiting high antifungal activity and being classified based on biosynthetic genes and metabolite production. These strains have demonstrated effective control of Fusarium wilt in V. faba and have shown plant growth-promoting activities.

Effects of soil organism interactions and temperature on carbon use efficiency in three different forest soils

Simin Wang et al.

Summary: This study used microcosms to investigate how microbial respiration, biomass, and CUE responded to biotic and abiotic factors in natural tropical, subtropical, and temperate forests. The results showed that microbial biomass and CUE were significantly higher, but microbial respiration lower in the subtropical and temperate forest soils than in tropical forest soil. Biotic factors mainly affected CUE by their effect on microbial biomass, while temperature affected CUE by altering respiration.
