Reversible regulation of enzyme-like activity of molybdenum disulfide quantum dots for colorimetric pharmaceutical analysis

Juan Tan et al.

Summary: This study presents a new strategy for reversible regulation of nanozyme activity by using MoS2 quantum dots as building blocks. The presence of Fe3+ enhances the peroxidase-like activity of the nanozyme, while the addition of captopril inhibits this enhancement. Based on this finding, a colorimetric method for captopril detection is developed, which is simple, rapid, reliable, and low-cost, and can be read with a smartphone.

Visual detection of captopril based on the light activated oxidase-mimic activity of covalent organic framework

Ming Yue Yuan et al.

Summary: The light-activated mimic oxidase TTA-Tp COF showed enhanced oxidase-mimic activity under white LED irradiation, with the ability to selectively oxidize substrates without using H2O2. The COF exhibits fully conjugated features that contribute to its light activation and production of ROS under visible light, making it a promising alternative to natural enzymes with potential applications in visual detection and colorimetric methods.

Green synthesis of fluorescent carbon nanospheres from chrysanthemum as a multifunctional sensor for permanganate, Hg(II), and captopril

Xuemei Dong et al.

Summary: A simple and green method for synthesizing fluorescent carbon nanospheres (CNs) using chrysanthemum as a natural precursor and ethylenediamine as the co-reagent was proposed. The prepared CNs exhibited strong blue fluorescence in water, with a quantum yield of 13.7% and distinguished fluorescence stability against photobleaching and ion strength. The CNs also showed reversible and temperature-sensitive fluorescence signals, making them useful as a temperature sensor. Additionally, the CNs served as excellent fluorescent sensors for detecting MnO4 and He2+, with low detection limits of 0.72 and 0.26 μM, respectively.

Dual-mode colorimetric and fluorescence sensing system for the detection of captopril based on Fe/NC nanozymes and carbon dots

Maolin Wu et al.

Summary: Metal nitrogen-doped carbon nanozymes have been widely studied due to their high catalytic activity, stability, and reusability. In this study, Fe/NC nanozymes with peroxidase-like activity were synthesized and used to develop a dual-mode sensing system for quantification of captopril. The system showed excellent linear relationships and detection limits, and satisfactory results were obtained in detecting captopril in pharmaceutical products.
