A Molecular Engineering Strategy for Achieving Blue Phosphorescent Carbon Dots with Outstanding Efficiency above 50%

Zhijiang Song et al.

Summary: High-efficiency blue room-temperature phosphorescent carbon dots with a high phosphorescence quantum efficiency of 50.17% and a long lifetime of 2.03s were designed and constructed using a simple molecular engineering strategy. These carbon dots were used as triplet donors to fabricate green, red, and white afterglow composites via effective phosphorescence Forster resonance energy transfer. The color temperature of the white afterglow emission can be widely and easily tuned from cool white to warm white.

Brighten Triplet Excitons of Carbon Nanodots for Multicolor Phosphorescence Films

Qing Cao et al.

Summary: In this study, triplet excitons in carbon nanodots (CNDs) are brightened by embedding them into poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) films, resulting in flexible multicolor phosphorescence films. PVA chains isolate the CNDs, reducing triplet exciton quenching, and hydrogen bonds between CNDs and PVA protect triplet excitons from nonradiative recombination.

Full-Color Long-Lived Room Temperature Phosphorescence in Aqueous Environment

Yan Zheng et al.

Summary: This study presents a feasible strategy for achieving high stability and full-color long-lived room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) of carbon dots (CDs)-based composite materials in aqueous environment by constructing a rigid hydrogen bonds' network. The obtained m,p-CDs@CA composite materials exhibit excellent stability, dispersion, and long-lived RTP properties, making them desirable for biomarker detection.

Cascade Resonance Energy Transfer for the Construction of Nanoparticles with Multicolor Long Afterglow in Aqueous Solutions for Information Encryption and Bioimaging

Luoqi Mo et al.

Summary: This study achieved multicolor long afterglow in aqueous solution by incorporating phosphorescent CDs and fluorescent dyes into sub-20 nm monodispersed silica nanoparticles. The silica matrix stabilized triplet excitons of CDs and facilitated cascade Forster resonance energy transfer, enabling intensive multicolor long afterglow with adjustable wavelength and large Stokes shift. The study also designed time-resolved, color multiple information encryptions and achieved high signal-to-noise ratio in in vivo afterglow imaging, making in vivo bioimaging portable and inexpensive.

Surface defect-rich ZnO nanostructures with high yellow-orange luminescence

A. C. Garcia-Velasco et al.

Summary: ZnO nanostructures with various morphologies were successfully synthesized using a simple solution route. The morphology of the nanostructures was found to depend strongly on the concentration of ZnCl2 and the hydrothermal synthesis time. The synthesized samples exhibited good crystallinity and high yellow-orange emission, indicating the presence of surface defect states.

Highly Efficient and Ultralong Afterglow Emission with Anti-Thermal Quenching from CsCdCl3 : Mn Perovskite Single Crystals

Zhe Tang et al.

Summary: This study proposes a novel strategy based on energy transfer to achieve efficient and long-lived phosphorescence by transferring triplet self-trapped excitons to Mn2+ dopants in CsCdCl3 perovskite materials. The doped CsCdCl3 exhibits high emission efficiency and long afterglow duration, with anti-thermal quenching properties. In-depth studies and calculations provide evidence for the mechanism of the anti-thermal quenching emission.

Stimulating Efficient and Stable Ultralong Phosphorescence of 2D Perovskites by Dual-Mode Triplet Exciton Stabilization

Lei Ge et al.

Summary: Efficient ultralong room temperature phosphorescence (URTP) emission from two-dimensional perovskites is achieved by stabilizing the triplet excitons of organic cations. Through methoxyl group modification, a strong URTP with good environmental and thermal stability is obtained. Furthermore, multiple information encryption and afterglow white lighting devices are realized, expanding the development of advanced 2D URTP materials and applications.

Ultrastable Perovskite through a SiO2 and PbSO4 Double Protection Strategy

Jiachen Han et al.

Summary: Perovskites have gained significant attention for their excellent optoelectronic properties, but their poor stability hinders practical applications. This study proposes a facile approach to synthesize stable CsPbBr3 nanomaterials by embedding them into a SiO2 matrix and coating their surfaces with an in situ PbSO4 shell. The resulting powder exhibits high photoluminescence quantum yield and robust stability under harsh conditions, showing great potential for practical applications.
