Addition of different concentrations of Indian almond (Terminalia catappa) leaf extract to aquarium water resulted in improved water quality and increased bubble nest formation by male Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens) without having any consistent negative effects on growth metrics and blood chemistry

Saowalak Malawa et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different concentrations of Indian almond leaf extract on water quality and performance of Siamese fighting fish. The results showed that a concentration of 0.25 g L-1 had no significant effect on growth and feed utilization, but had effects on other metrics. Furthermore, water quality significantly improved during the experiment.

In-vitro Investigation of Wound Healing Potential of Musa acuminata Leaf Extract

Ghosh Tanmoy et al.

Summary: The study investigated the wound healing potential of aqueous banana leaf extract and developed a topical delivery system for its application. Results showed that the aqueous extract exhibited cytocompatibility and antibacterial properties, with better wound healing compared to marketed and control formulations. The study suggests the potential of aqueous banana leaf extract as a wound healing agent warranting further exploration.
