Lipocalin2 as a useful biomarker for risk stratification in patients with acute cholangitis: A single-center prospective and observational study

Xin Deng et al.

Summary: The study found that serum lipocalin 2 concentration can be used to predict the severity of acute cholangitis. Compared to other inflammatory markers, serum lipocalin 2 has a stronger predictive ability and can potentially serve as a biomarker for risk stratification and timing of treatment in acute cholangitis.

Summary: The CLR and lymphocyte levels are factors associated with the severity of COVID-19 infection. CLR at emergency department admission can be a useful prognostic biomarker for predicting the severity and mortality of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Validation of Tokyo Guidelines 2007 and Tokyo Guidelines 2013/2018 Criteria for Acute Cholangitis and Predictors of In-Hospital Mortality

Ramkumar Mohan et al.

Summary: This study validated the higher sensitivity of TG13/18 diagnostic criteria compared to TG07 and identified predictors of in-hospital mortality in AC patients, including type 2 diabetes mellitus, systolic blood pressure <100 mm Hg, Glasgow coma score <15, and malignant etiology. These predictors could be considered in the acute stratification and treatment of AC patients.
