Inorganic perovskite CsPb2Br5 shows great potential as a supercapacitor electrode material with high specific capacitance and cycling stability. The capacitive behavior and charge transfer mechanism have been analyzed in detail.
All inorganic perovskites have recently received substantial attention as prospective substances for energy storage in electrochemical systems. Here, we report on the utility of CsPb2Br5 as supercapacitor electrode material. As fabricated electrode based on CsPb2Br5 shows a specific capacitance of 886 F g(-1) at a scan rate of 2 mV s(-1). It retained 76% of its initial specific capacitance and demonstrated a Columbic efficiency of similar to 99% after 5000 operational cycles. On the basis of real C'(omega) and imaginary C ''(omega) capacitances as a function of frequency, the observed capacitive behaviour is explained in detail, and the charge transfer mechanism is explored using Mott-Schottky analysis.
