Influence of Substrates on Structure Development and Concentration of Residual Impurities in Hafnium-Titanium-Oxide Films Grown by Atomic Layer Deposition

Lauri Aarik et al.

Summary: Atomic layer deposition of HfxTi1-xOy films on various substrates was investigated and the crystal structure and impurity concentration were analyzed. Different phases of TiO2 and HfO2 were formed depending on the composition of the films and the substrate used. The crystal structure of the films had an influence on the chlorine impurity concentration and the permittivity of the films increased with decreasing Hf content.

An In Situ Study of Precursor Decomposition via Refractive Index Sensing in p-Type Transparent Copper Chromium Oxide

Ainur Zhussupbekova et al.

Summary: Oxide semiconductors have the potential to surpass currently employed semiconductors, but the insufficient development of p-type oxides is a major obstacle. This study introduces an optical sensing method for monitoring oxide film growth during spray pyrolysis. By extracting the changes in refractive index in real time, the thermal decomposition processes can be understood and synthesis conditions can be optimized.

Summary: This study explores flexomagnetism in Cr2O3 thin films and demonstrates that mechanical strain gradient can impact magnetic phase transition. The flexomagnetic effect allows antiferromagnetic ordering to persist at higher temperatures, making it potentially relevant for industrial applications.

CVD growth of layered Cr2O3 hexagonal flakes for optoelectronic applications

Muhammad Hafeez et al.

Summary: Chromium (III) oxide, synthesized through CVD method with Iodine as an assisting material, exhibits a unique layered structure similar to graphene and other TMDCs. Raman spectroscopy was employed to predict the anti-ferromagnetic ordering of spin in Cr2O3 hexagonal flakes, while PL spectroscopy revealed the creation of magnon states due to layer stacking and ordering. The stability and reliability of the flakes for spintronic devices were tested using photo-detector response measurements.

Summary: In this study, the suitability of chromium oxide as diluted magnetic oxide was systematically investigated, with nanoparticles doped with Ni2+ ions successfully synthesized. Various analyses confirmed the structural characteristics of the nanoparticles and revealed the presence of oxygen defects. The study also demonstrated marginal changes in optical bandgap and weak room temperature ferromagnetism in the doped nanoparticles.

Electrical conductivity and X-ray sensing properties of TiO2:Cr thin film synthesised by chemical bath deposition method

J. M. Kalita et al.

Summary: X-ray sensing properties of chromium-doped titanium dioxide thin films synthesized by a chemical bath deposition method were studied. The doping of Cr led to an increase in crystallite size, a decrease in optical band gap, and enhanced electrical conductivity of the films. Furthermore, the doping influenced the rise time and decay time of radiation-induced current, as well as the detection sensitivity of the films.
