This study focuses on the positive synergistic effects of ZnO/ZnFe2O4 heterostructure, which exhibited the best sensing performance among pure ZnO and ZnFe2O4. The enhanced sensing properties were attributed to the higher concentration of oxygen vacancies at the ZnO/ZnFe2O4 interface and enhanced catalytic activity.

Synergistic activation of persulfate by ultrasound/PbO2 anodic oxidation system for effective degradation of naproxen, a toxic and bio-recalcitrant pollutant: Process optimization and application for pharmaceutical wastewater

Summary: A synergistic persulfate activation system based on ultrasound/PbO2 anodic oxidation process (US/PS/AO) was developed for effective degradation of naproxen (NPX) in pharmaceutical wastewater. The optimized US/PS/AO process achieved a NPX degradation rate of 98.5% and a total organic carbon (TOC) mineralization rate of 73.6% after 60 minutes of reaction. The PbO2 electrocatalyst used in the process showed high reusability and complied with the wastewater discharge standards. These findings contribute to the development of a cheap, safe, and effective advanced oxidation process for treating pharmaceutical wastewater.

Electrocatalytic degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol by a 3DG-PbO2 powdered anode: Experimental and theoretical insights

Characterization and electrochemical properties of stable Ni2+ and F- co-doped PbO2 coating on titanium substrate

Summary: A novel Ni2+ and F- co-doped PbO2 coating with high stability was fabricated on a titanium substrate using anodic electrodeposition method. The addition of dopants promoted the formation of a crack-free and pore-free coating. Electrochemical tests confirmed that the Ni2+ and F- co-doped anode had the lowest charge transfer resistance and the highest electrocatalytic activity.

In situ engineering of highly conductive TiO2/carbon heterostructure fibers for enhanced electrocatalytic degradation of water pollutants

Bi5+doping improves the electrochemical properties of Ti/SnO2-Sb/PbO2 electrode and its electrocatalytic performance for phenol

Efficient electrocatalytic degradation of doxycycline hydrochloride in wastewater by Ni/MWCNTs-OH on modified Ti

Summary: The abuse and incomplete treatment of doxycycline hydrochloride (DOX) in animal husbandry has resulted in serious environmental problems, particularly the risk of bacterial resistance. This study successfully prepared a Ni/MWCNTs-OH/Ti composite electrode using electrocatalysis, and determined the optimal conditions for DOX degradation. The composite electrode showed good stability and reusability, and the degradation process and toxicity of intermediate products were analyzed through LC-MS and microbial experiments.

The co-modification with Ce3+ and SDS remarkably improved the surface hydrophobicity and catalytic ability of the anode, leading to enhanced As (III) conversion and stability. Bimetallic ZnFe2O4 nanosheets prepared via electrodeposition as binder-free high-performance supercapacitor electrodes

Summary: Binder-free bimetallic ZnFe2O4 nanosheets were successfully fabricated through one-step electrodeposition, enhancing electrical contact with the nickel substrate and promoting efficient electrochemical and Faradaic redox reactions. The cubic spinel structure of ZnFe2O4 attracted electrolytic ions and improved energy storage capability, resulting in a high specific capacitance of 1093 F.g(-1) at 1 A.g(-1) current rate. Summary: In this study, a three-dimensional electrochemical reactor with Ti/SnO2-Sb/beta-PbO2 anode and granular activated carbon (3DER-GAC) particle electrodes was utilized for the degradation of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP). Process optimization using OCCD and GA led to the development of a robust quadratic model for predicting the removal efficiency of 2,4-DCP. Under optimal conditions, the 3DER-GAC system showed significantly higher removal efficiency compared to a separate electrochemical degradation process, with efficient energy consumption.
