Relative changes in the cochlear summating potentials to paired-clicks predict speech-in-noise perception and subjective hearing acuity

Jesyin Lai et al.

Summary: Objective assays of human cochlear synaptopathy (CS) have been challenging to develop. This proof-of-concept study found that relative summating potential (SP) changes were more significant in high-risk listeners, and these changes were associated with speech-in-noise and subjective hearing abilities.
