Enhanced flowability and film properties of ultrafine powder coatings modulated by modified flow additive

Junqing Xie et al.

Summary: A resin encapsulation approach was proposed to modify the commercial inorganic flow additives for improving powder flowability and maintaining film quality. The encapsulation of additives with the same resin of the host powder coating can enhance both flowability and film properties, compared to commercial nano-silica. Adjusting the resin content and additive dosage can further improve flowability and film quality.

Pickering Emulsions and Antibubbles Stabilized by PLA/PLGA Nanoparticles

Rodrigo Araya-Hermosilla et al.

Summary: Micrometer-sized double emulsions and antibubbles were produced and stabilized using polymeric nanoparticles via the Pickering mechanism. The nanoparticles, either PLA or PLGA, were synthesized without surfactants, and the hydrophobicity was tuned to stabilize the emulsions. Controlled release of a fluorescent probe from the antibubbles was successfully achieved through heating.

Formulation and characterisation of drug-loaded antibubbles for image-guided and ultrasound-triggered drug delivery

Spiros Kotopoulis et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to develop high load-capacity antibubbles that can be visualized using diagnostic ultrasound and the encapsulated drug can be released and delivered using clinically translatable ultrasound. The antibubbles were developed by optimising a silica nanoparticle stabilised double emulsion template. The results showed that the developed antibubbles can be visualized using diagnostic ultrasound and have a long half-life, indicating their potential as a viable concept for ultrasound guided drug delivery.

Edible CaCO3 nanoparticles stabilized Pickering emulsion as calcium-fortified formulation

Xiaoming Guo et al.

Summary: Edible oil-in-water Pickering emulsion structured by calcium carbonate nanoparticles showed potential for delivering lipophilic drugs and oral calcium supplementation. The microstructure of the emulsion could be controlled by adjusting particle concentration and oil volume fraction. The emulsion displayed acid-triggered demulsification in simulated gastric environment, enhancing the bioavailability of encapsulated vitamin D3.
