Extended Oxygen Octahedral Tilt Proximity near Oxide Heterostructures

Junsik Mun et al.

Summary: In this study, the scalability of the oxygen octahedral tilt (OOT) proximity effect in SrRuO3 (SRO) was achieved by epitaxial strain near the SRO/SrTiO3 heterointerface. The length scale of the OOT proximity effect in SRO was extended from 4 unit cells to 14 unit cells, and this variation may be attributed to changes in phonon dispersions due to electron-phonon coupling. This research provides insights into the structural gradients of correlated systems and has potential device applications.

High-precision atomic-scale strain mapping of nanoparticles from STEM images

Xiaonan Luo et al.

Summary: This article introduces the method and technique of strain analysis using STEM images and discusses the applicability of different deformation parameters in atomic-scale research. The study found that local lattice parameters and principal strain components are the most physically meaningful parameters.

Micrometre-scale strain mapping of transistor arrays extracted from undersampled atomic-resolution images

Martin Couillard

Summary: By applying a modified geometric phase analysis to undersampled images of atomic lattices, accurate atomic displacement measurements at large scale can still be obtained. Despite the increased effects of scanning errors at lower magnifications, it is still possible to produce strain maps with a field of view exceeding one micrometer.

py4DSTEM: A Software Package for Four-Dimensional Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy Data Analysis

Benjamin H. Savitzky et al.

Summary: STEM enables imaging, diffraction, and spectroscopy of materials at various length scales, producing rich 4D-STEM datasets. The py4DSTEM analysis toolkit, written in Python, aims to extract material properties through complex analysis pipelines, with the goal of improving standards in electron microscopy data and methods.
