Scattering between Minivalleys in Twisted Double Bilayer Graphene

Petar Tomic et al.

Summary: In this study, magnetotransport oscillations caused by scattering between minivalleys in twisted double bilayer graphene are investigated. An electron-phonon mechanism and valley conserving scattering are found to be likely mechanisms.

Weak localization on moire superlattice in twisted double bilayer graphene

Masaki Kashiwagi et al.

Summary: The negative magnetoresistance caused by weak localization was investigated in twisted double bilayer graphene (TDBG) as a function of the twist angle. The ratio of the intervalley scattering time to the intravalley scattering time, calculated using the weak localization formula for bilayer graphene, showed a decreasing trend as the twist angle increased. This can be qualitatively explained by the enhanced intervalley scattering due to the reduction of the intervalley distance in the moire Brillouin zone.

Counterintuitive gate dependence of weak antilocalization in bilayer graphene/WSe2 heterostructures

Julia Amann et al.

Summary: This research investigates spin-orbit coupling in bilayer graphene/transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures, and finds that the visibility of weak antilocalization effect does not necessarily increase with the increase of spin-orbit splitting under certain conditions. This phenomenon is caused by the intricate dependence of spin lifetimes on symmetric and antisymmetric spin lifetimes.

Strong Interminivalley Scattering in Twisted Bilayer Graphene Revealed by High-Temperature Magneto-Oscillations

I. Y. Phinney et al.

Summary: Twisted bilayer graphene (TBG) exhibits high-temperature magneto-oscillations due to the scattering of charge carriers between TBG minivalleys, revealing strong interminivalley scattering. The study also estimates the electron-electron collision rate in TBG, finding it exceeds that of monolayer graphene, showcasing the impact of the relatively small size of the superlattice Brillouin zone and Fermi velocity reduction on lateral transport in TBG.
