Palladium-Catalyzed Oxidative Amination of Unactivated Olefins with Primary Aliphatic Amines

Summary: An unprecedented Rh-(III)-catalyzed double C-H functionalization of indoles with cyclopropenones via sequential C-H/C-C/C-H bond activation has been developed. This procedure represents the first example for assembling of cyclopenta-[b]-indoles utilizing cyclopropenones as 3C synthons. This powerful approach shows excellent chemo- and regioselectivity, wide functional group tolerance, and good reaction yields.

Synthesis of 2,3-Diaminoindoles via a Copper-Iodine Co-catalytic Strategy

It has been shown that repurposing existing enzymes or constructing artificial enzymes can promote valuable abiological transformations, demonstrating the power of combining chemomimetic biocatalyst design and directed evolution in generating new-to-nature enzymes.

Allylic C-H amination cross-coupling furnishes tertiary amines by electrophilic metal catalysis

This strategy allows for the simultaneous establishment of C-C and C-N bonds in one operation, providing access to functionalized indoles with high regio-selectivity and good functional group compatibility. The utility of this method is demonstrated by the concise synthesis of an analogue of a potent anticancer agent. This work paves the way for further innovative direct difunctionalization of carbon-carbon double bonds.
