HPE-GCN: Predicting efficacy of tonic formulae via graph convolutional networks integrating traditionally defined herbal properties

Jiajun Liu et al.

Summary: This study proposes a model called HPE-GCN that combines graph convolutional networks (GCN) with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)-defined herbal properties (TCM-HPs) to predict the efficacy of Chinese herbal formulae. The model achieves the best results in multi-classification compared to other classic machine learning models. The research provides new analysis tools and ideas for TCM research.

Spectrum-effect relationship between UPLC fingerprints and anti-lung cancer effect ofPanax ginseng

Xiaowei Zhou et al.

Summary: The study aimed to establish new quality control methods for ginseng and identify its main active components for lung cancer treatment. Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography was used to establish fingerprints of 18 batches of ginseng, while CCK-8 test evaluated its inhibitory activity on Lewis lung cancer cells. The spectrum-effect relationship analysis identified ginsenoside Ro as the main anti-proliferative constituent of LLC cells.
