Reproductive attributes and functional response of Anastatus japonicus on eggs of Antheraea pernyi, a factitious host

Summary: This study assessed the reproductive attributes and functional response of Anastatus japonicus on a factitious host. The results showed that the sex ratio of adult progeny was slightly male biased, and individual wasps were unable to effectively respond to increasing host density. Therefore, releasing larger numbers of wasps and considering mutual interference among them should be taken into account in practical biological control programs.

Fitness and interspecific competition of Trissolcus japonicus and Anastatus japonicus , egg parasitoids of Halyomorpha halys

Summary: Both Trissolcus japonicus and Anastatus japonicus showed decreased developmental time with increased temperatures and were able to parasitize hosts already parasitized by the other species. T. japonicus outcompeted A. japonicus with shorter time lags between attacks, while A. japonicus dominated with longer time lags. The combined release of both species did not provide any advantage compared to individual releases for parasitism rates.

Molecular Identification of Trissolcus japonicus, Parasitoid of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, by Species-Specific PCR

Summary: A DNA-based method was developed to identify the samurai wasp Trissolcus japonicus, which showed high accuracy in distinguishing T. japonicus specimens from other similar wasp species. The method has potential applications in North America, Europe, and parts of Asia to assess the distribution and survival of T. japonicus for biocontrol purposes.
