Proton 3D tracking and emission time from a short-lived isomer with ACTAR TPC

Summary: This study conducted an experiment at the GANIL/LISE3 facility to produce the 10+ isomer of 54Ni and measure its proton radioactivity decay branches. The experiment successfully detected and separated the proton signals from the implanted ion signals using the ACTAR TPC device. The results revealed the existence of two emission branches with their relative branching ratio.

Summary: Proton radioactivity, discovered 50 years ago, is important for studying nuclear structure and has various theoretical approaches. Experimental measurements of proton emission branches from the isomeric state in Ni-54m show high angular momentum decays that can be theoretically approximated. In this study, two proton emission branches from the 10+ state isomer of 54mNi were reported using a new detector.
