Synergistically enhanced peroxidase-like activity of Fe3O4/Ti3C2 MXene quantum dots and its application in colorimetric determination of Cr (VI)

Yonghua Cheng et al.

Summary: The rational design of Fe3O4@MXene quantum dots (Fe3O4@MQDs) hybrid material with enhanced peroxidase-like activity is achieved through a facile ultrasonic strategy. The catalytic mechanism reveals that Fe3O4@MQDs can effectively decompose H2O2 to produce reactive hydroxyl radicals (center dot OH), which derives from the active sites of interfacial Fe-Ti dimer. A sensitive colorimetric sensor is proposed to detect Cr (VI) with a low detection limit of 0.26 μM, demonstrating the great potential of MQDs-based peroxidase-like enzymes in the detection of environmental pollutants.

Inter filter effect between fluorescent copper nanoclusters and Cr(VI) and its application for probing the activity of alkaline phosphatase

Hongding Zhang et al.

Summary: A novel fluorescent sensing strategy using highly luminescent glutathione-stabilized copper nanoclusters (GSH-CuNCs) as fluorescent probe was successfully established for the detection of alkaline phosphatase activity (ALP). The GSH-CuNCs were synthesized with GSH as stabilizer and ascorbic acid (AA) as reductant. The optical properties of GSH-CuNCs were investigated, and its sensing ability for AA and ALP were explored.

Beyond carbon dots: Intrinsic reducibility in Ti3C2 MXene quantum dots induces ultrasensitive fluorescence detection and scavenging of Mn(VII)

Jiangjiang Gu et al.

Summary: Recently, there has been a lot of research on cutting two-dimension MXenes into quantum dots (QDs) in order to take advantage of their photoluminescence properties. However, it is still a challenge to use MXene QDs (MQDs) for simultaneous detection and scavenging of heavy metal ions that may be harmful to the environment and human health. In this study, MQDs were prepared by hydrothermal treatment of Ti3C2 MXene in the presence of ethylenediamine and oxidized by H2O2 to obtain carbon dots (CDs). These MQDs and CDs showed excellent dispersibility, small size, good fluorescence, and high stability.

Blocking the Cu (II) Ions Mediated Catalytical Ability for Construction of Ratiometric Fluorescence Sensing Platform Based on Glutathione-Stabilized Copper Nanoclusters

Bei-Bei Tao et al.

Summary: Integrating two kinds of fluorescent probes in one system to construct a ratiometric sensing platform is of great importance. A novel and label-free ratiometric fluorescent sensor has been developed for detection of Cu2+ and kojic acid based on in situ converting o-phenylenediamine into 2, 3-diaminophenazine by the catalytic oxidation ability of Cu2+. The sensitivity and accuracy of this strategy were greatly improved due to the dual-emission reverse change ratiometric profile.
