Biogenic fluorescent carbon dots modulated fabrication of concatenate logic library and pattern-mediated molecular keypad lock for chemical sensing application

Ajith Manayil Parambil et al.

Summary: In recent years, molecular logic gates (MLGs) have gained attention as replacements for conventional silicon-based electronic computers. This study developed chemically functionalized biogenic Carbon (C)-dots and applied them as MLGs for multi-stimulus responsive computing. Different C-dot platforms were combined with analytes to create a logic library representing 15 logic gates and their combinational operations. Additionally, a molecular keypad lock and a parity checker were developed using C-dots platforms.

Exposure, toxicological mechanism of endocrine disrupting compounds and future direction of identification using nano-architectonics

Eepsita Priyadarshini et al.

Summary: Endocrine-disrupting compounds (EDC) are exogenous chemicals that mimic hormones and interfere with hormonal signaling, leading to adverse health effects. This review examines the scientific literature from 1990 to 2023, discussing EDC exposure, molecular mechanisms, and toxicological effects on biological systems. The need for alternative techniques to identify and estimate EDC is emphasized, with a focus on in vitro detection methods and the potential of designing nano-architectonic-sensor substrates for on-site detection in contaminated aqueous environments.

Arylene Diimide Phosphors: Aggregation Modulated Twin Room Temperature Phosphorescence from Pyromellitic Diimides

Swadhin Garain et al.

Summary: This study reports highly efficient room temperature phosphorescence from simple, heavy-atom substituted pyromellitic diimide derivatives in amorphous matrix and crystalline state. The phosphorescence is modulated by multiple intermolecular halogen bonding interactions, resulting in twin RTP emission from monomeric and aggregated states. Notably, the air-stable phosphorescence shows one of the highest quantum yields among various organics in the orange-red emissive region.
