Stimuli-responsive SERS biosensor for ultrasensitive tetracycline sensing using EDTA-driven PEI@CaCO3 microcapsule and CS@FeMMs

Huanhuan Li et al.

Summary: A stimuli-responsive SERS biosensor was developed for tetracycline detection using EDTA-driven polyethyleneimine grafted calcium carbonate microcapsules and chitosan-Fe magnetic microbeads. The biosensor showed high sensitivity and stability, with a linear relationship established and a LOD of 0.03 ng/mL. The biosensor's application in detecting tetracycline in food matrices was also validated and yielded consistent results with the standard ELISA method. This SERS biosensor offers promising prospects for tetracycline detection.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in Fildes Peninsula, maritime Antarctica: Effects of human disturbance*

Zilan Wu et al.

Summary: This study presents the first data on the distribution, sources, and transport dynamics of PAHs in Fildes Peninsula, Antarctica. The results show high PAH levels and similar composition profiles in both marine and terrestrial environments, suggesting substantial primary emissions of petrogenic PAHs. Local anthropogenic inputs were found to be the main factor influencing the variability of PAHs in the air, while PAH pollution in different samples was attributed to station-related activities rather than long-range atmospheric transport. The study highlights the importance of further monitoring and understanding the native anthropogenic sources of PAHs in the Fildes Peninsula.

Seasonal variation and source apportionment of Oxygenated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (OPAHs) and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in PM2.5 in Seoul, Korea

Sun Min Shin et al.

Summary: The concentration of OPAHs in atmospheric particulate matter in Seoul was higher than that of PAHs, with higher concentrations in winter compared to summer. Compared to 2006, the concentration of PAHs decreased by 68%, while OPAHs only decreased by 22%, suggesting improvements in combustion technology or higher oxidation rates in the environment. The sources and contributions of PAHs and OPAHs were identified through correlation analysis and PMF modeling.

Spatial distribution and temporal variation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in runoff and surface water

Tuyet Nam Thi Nguyen et al.

Summary: This study investigated the spatial distribution, emission sources, and ecological risks of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in runoff and surface water mixed with runoff discharge in Ulsan, South Korea. The industrial site had the highest PAH concentrations, and July showed higher levels of dissolved PAHs in surface water. Emission sources for PAHs were identified through PCA and KNN, revealing similarities between runoff and surface water sources. The ecological risk for surface water decreased significantly after mixing with runoff water, with the highest risk observed in July due to elevated PAH concentrations.
