Quantum magnonics: When magnon spintronics meets quantum information science

H. Y. Yuan et al.

Summary: Spintronics and quantum information science are promising candidates for innovating information processing technologies. The combination of these two fields enables us to study quantum phenomena and realize multi-functional quantum tasks. Recent progress in coding and processing information using magnons, as well as advances in understanding the entanglement of quasi-particles and designing high-quality quantum platforms, provide physical platforms for integrating magnons with quantum systems. This has led to the emergence of the highly interdisciplinary field of quantum magnonics, which combines spintronics, quantum optics, and quantum information science.

Thermal squeezing and nonlinear spectral shift of magnons in antiferromagnetic insulators

Mahroo Shiranzaei et al.

Summary: We investigate the effect of magnon-magnon interactions on the dispersion and polarization of magnon modes in collinear antiferromagnetic (AF) insulators at finite temperatures. We find that the nonlinear magnon interactions separate into two-magnon intra- and interband scattering processes. Furthermore, we compute the temperature dependence of the magnon bandgap and AF resonance modes due to nonlinear magnon interactions for square and hexagonal lattices. In addition, we study the effect of magnon interactions on the polarization of magnon modes. Our findings can be used as a tool to probe the nonlinear interactions in magnetic systems.

Magnon-magnon entanglement and its quantification via a microwave cavity

Vahid Azimi Mousolou et al.

Summary: Quantum magnonics is a promising research field with potential applications in hybrid systems and quantum information processing. Experimental measurement of bipartite continuous-variable magnon-magnon entanglement opens up possibilities for quantifying magnon-magnon entanglement and EPR nonlocality. Proposing a practical experimental setup for measuring the EPR function of the ground state through magnon-photon interaction in a microwave cavity is an important step in this research area.

Self-consistently renormalized spin-wave theory of layered ferromagnets on the honeycomb lattice

V. V. Mkhitaryan et al.

Summary: A self-consistently renormalized spin-wave theory has been developed for two-dimensional chromium magnets, considering perpendicular easy-axis anisotropy and physical differences between layers, enabling the study of various magnetic phenomena in systems with magnetically inequivalent sublattices. The theory predicts a strong dimensionality effect in reducing the ordering temperature and increasing sensitivity to anisotropy as dimensionality decreases.
