Flashover Voltage Prediction Models under Agricultural and Biological Contaminant Conditions on Insulators

Shabana Khatoon et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the AC flashover behavior of a porcelain-cap-and-pin-type insulator polluted with different pollutants, including agricultural salts, dust, urea, algae, and fungi. The experiment reveals that soluble salts and non-soluble deposits on the insulator surface both affect the flashover voltage, with thickly contaminated layers significantly reducing the flashover voltage. Additionally, the study develops empirical models based on regression analysis to predict the flashover voltage of naturally contaminated insulators.

Study on the self-cleaning phenomenon and anti-pollution flashover performance of micro-nanostructure superhydrophobic coating surface under a high humidity environment

Jinyu Chen et al.

Summary: The research on the anti-pollution flashover performance of superhydrophobic coating is still insufficient. This paper analyzes the various types of forces on the polluted particles accumulated on the coating surface, and establishes a new pollution flashover mechanism model. The experimental results show that the leakage current of superhydrophobic coating surface remains about 16.3 mu A after being completely wetted at any pollution degree.
