Highly efficient p-i-n perovskite solar cells that endure temperature variations

Guixiang Li et al.

Summary: Daily temperature variations challenge the stability of halide perovskites in solar cells. However, by using the ordered dipolar structure of beta-poly(1,1-difluoroethylene), we were able to stabilize the perovskite black phase and improve solar cell performance. Our p-i-n perovskite solar cells achieved a record power conversion efficiency of 24.6% and retained high efficiency after exposure to various temperatures and thermal cycling.

Self-Assembled Molecules for Hole-Selective Electrodes in Highly Stable and Efficient Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells with Ultralow Energy Loss

Wenhui Li et al.

Summary: In order to improve the efficiency and long-term stability of solar cells, it is necessary to select suitable contact materials. This study modifies Spiro-OMeTAD by introducing a carboxylic acid anchoring group (Spiro-Acid) to form self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) in dopant-free p-i-n hybrid perovskite solar cells (iPSCs). The results demonstrate that Spiro-OMeTAD-based SAMs have great potential in producing low-cost iPSC devices with lower material usage, good long-term stability, and high performance.

Role of Terminal Group Position in Triphenylamine-Based Self-Assembled Hole-Selective Molecules in Perovskite Solar Cells

Ece Aktas et al.

Summary: The application of self-assembled molecules (SAMs) in perovskite solar cells has gained attention. In this study, three molecules were synthesized that can self-assemble onto metal oxide layers and selectively extract holes. These molecules were employed in perovskite solar cells, resulting in a power conversion efficiency of up to 20%. It was found that SAMs with para- and ortho-substituted positions enhance the formation of large grain thin films, leading to increased power conversion efficiencies.

Conjugated Self-Assembled Monolayer as Stable Hole-Selective Contact for Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells

Shuo Zhang et al.

Summary: The alkyl linker-based self-assembled monolayer (SAM) has limitations in its hole-transporting capability and stability. In this study, a series of conjugated SAMs with enhanced photo and electrical stability were reported. The conjugated molecular structure not only improves charge transport but also stabilizes the electron-rich arylamines. An optimal conjugated SAM, in combination with a standard triple cation perovskite, achieved efficient inverted PSCs with high stability. The findings suggest that conjugated SAMs are promising for further advancement of inverted PSCs.
