A systematic study of physical properties of La substituted Sr3Co2Fe24O41 Z-hexaferrites

Sukhbir Singh et al.

Summary: The present work systematically explores the impact of La substitution on the solubility range of Lanthanum in the Sr3Co2Fe24O41 structure. La substituted hexaferrites Sr3-xLaxCo2Fe24O41 were prepared and characterized using XRD, TEM, and SEM. The results indicate a limit of La solubility in Sr3-xLaxCo2Fe24O41 at x = 0.45. The dielectric properties of the samples exhibit frequency-dependent and thermally stimulated behavior. With increasing La substitution, the saturation magnetization decreases and coercivity increases, indicating an increase in magnetic hardness. Weak magneto-electric coupling is observed in the SCFO sample.

Emerging magnetodielectric materials for 5G communications: 18H hexaferrites

Qifan Li et al.

Summary: This study reports the microwave properties and temperature dependence of a unique type of hexaferrite, Mg-Zn 18H hexaferrite (Ba5Mg2-xZnxTi3Fe12O31). The material exhibits low damping coefficients, low magnetic loss, excellent thermal stability, and a narrow ferromagnetic resonance linewidth. Compared to conventional microwave ferrites, Mg-Zn 18H hexaferrite shows significant enhancement in the figure of merit and advantages in miniaturization and bandwidth improvement when used as the substrate for a patch antenna. These findings highlight the importance of this hexaferrite material in 5G communications.

Barium hexaferrites with narrow ferrimagnetic resonance linewidth tailored by site-controlled Cu doping

Chuanjian Wu et al.

Summary: This research investigates the magnetic and microwave properties of Cu-doped barium hexaferrites with site-controlled Cu doping. It reveals that the accumulation of Cu2+ ions at grain boundaries contributes to the increase in coercivity, while the dispersion of Cu2+ ions in crystallites leads to the decrease in the anisotropy field. By introducing Cu2+ ions into the interstitial positions of the lattice, barium hexaferrites with a narrow FMR linewidth and high remanence ratio are achieved.
