Surgical considerations in skin of colour: minimizing pathological scars

Summary: The primary aim of surgery is the success of the operation, while the secondary aim is to minimize scar formation. Some patients may experience abnormal cellular processes during wound healing, resulting in hypertrophic or keloid scar formation. Clinicians can reduce the risk of pathological scars by implementing good surgical practices.
