An efficient Lorentz equivariant graph neural network for jet tagging

Shiqi Gong et al.

Summary: This article introduces a new symmetry-preserving deep learning model called LorentzNet for jet tagging. By using an efficient Minkowski dot product attention mechanism, LorentzNet achieves the best tagging performance and significantly improves existing algorithms. The preservation of Lorentz symmetry greatly enhances the efficiency and generalization power of the model.

Combined SMEFT interpretation of Higgs, diboson, and top quark data from the LHC

Jacob J. Ethier et al.

Summary: In this study, a global interpretation of Higgs, diboson, and top quark measurements at the LHC was presented within the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) at dimension six. By constraining 36 independent directions in the parameter space, and incorporating both linear and quadratic corrections, the study demonstrated the importance of including NLO QCD and O (Lambda(-4)) effects for accurately mapping the posterior distributions associated with the fitted Wilson coefficients. The results highlight the interplay and complementarity between top quark, Higgs, and diboson measurements, and pave the way for more global SMEFT interpretations extended to other high-p(T) processes and low-energy observables.

Simplified fast detector simulation in MADANALYSIS 5

Jack Y. Araz et al.

Summary: A new simplified fast detector simulator has been introduced in the MadAnalysis 5 platform. By comparing predictions with Delphes 3 software, the results generally agree to a level of about 10% or better, with the largest differences stemming from different strategies used to model specific detector effects. MadAnalysis 5 now offers a user-friendly way to include detector effects when analyzing collider events.

Top, Higgs, diboson and electroweak fit to the Standard Model effective field theory

John Ellis et al.

Summary: The search for effective field theory deformations of the Standard Model is conducted through a global approach in the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory. The analysis includes constraints on the coefficients of SMEFT operators and explores specific ultra-violet completions of the Standard Model, but does not find significant evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model.

Combine and conquer: event reconstruction with Bayesian Ensemble Neural Networks

Jack Y. Araz et al.

Summary: Ensemble learning combines multiple component learners through a protocol. An Ensemble Neural Network (ENN) proposed in this study uses the combined latent-feature space of multiple neural network classifiers to enhance the network hypothesis representation. By linking different sources of error correlations and utilizing Bayesian techniques, the ENN can reduce uncertainties and the entropy of the hypothesis, while simultaneously exploiting various kinematic correlations of the system.
