This case describes a 9-year-old boy with a mass in the palatal and buccal aspect of the left maxillary alveolar ridge. He was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, with visceral involvement. The maxillofacial surgeon excised the maxillary mass and the patient received chemotherapy.
A 9-year-old boy presented with a mass in the palatal and buccal aspect of the left maxillary alveolar ridge. After clinical and radiologic examination, the patient with a primary diagnosis of Burkitt lymphoma (BL) was a candidate for incisional biopsy. A histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. Then, visceral involvement was also detected. The maxillofacial surgeon excised the maxillary mass, and the patient was discharged from the maxillofacial department to receive chemotherapy. BL is a rapidly progressive tumor, and it is crucial to know its different manifestations to increase the patient's survival chance by early diagnosis and treatment. This presentation is a case of BL with the jaw and visceral involvement.
