Cerebrovascular segmentation from mesoscopic optical images using Swin Transformer

Yuxin Li et al.

Summary: Vascular segmentation is a crucial task in biomedical image processing for analyzing and modeling vascular networks. This paper proposes a vascular segmentation method, SegVesseler, based on Swin Transformer. It extracts global contextual information from 3D images and maintains the connectivity and topology of blood vessels during segmentation. Experimental results show that our method outperforms traditional CNNs and achieves state-of-the-art performance.

Automated Cerebral Vessel Segmentation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Patients with Intracranial Atherosclerotic Diseases

Tatsat R. Patel et al.

Summary: TOF magnetic resonance angiography is crucial for diagnosing ICAD, requiring accurate evaluation of artery stenosis and blood flow supply. Deep-learning methods have shown promising results in medical image segmentation, with BRAVE-NET and DeepMedic being compared for automated brain vessel segmentation in ICAD patients. DeepMedic slightly outperformed BRAVE-NET in segmentation quality for detecting small and distal arteries in ICAD patients.
