Tanshinone-I for the treatment of uterine fibroids: Molecular docking, simulation, and density functional theory investigations

Abhishek Tiwari et al.

Summary: Uterine fibroids, a common gynecological disorder, affect 25-35% of women and may require surgery for treatment. In this study, 28 plant-based molecules were docked onto progesterone receptors, and Tanshinone-I showed the best docking score. Molecular modeling and DFT analysis confirmed the stable interaction between Tanshinone-I and the progesterone receptor. Free energy analysis revealed a favorable binding energy for Tanshinone-I. These findings suggest the potential of Tanshinone-I as a therapeutic option for uterine fibroids.

Spatiotemporal trends of cardiovascular disease burden attributable to ambient PM2.5 from 1990 to 2019: A global burden of disease study

Yan-Hua Liu et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the spatiotemporal trends in the global burden of cardiovascular disease (CVD) attributable to ambient PM2.5 from 1990 to 2019. It found that the global burden of CVD caused by PM2.5 has significantly increased over the past three decades. Aging, population growth, and sociodemographic index have contributed to the heterogeneity in spatial and temporal distribution.

Tianma Gouteng Decoction regulates oxidative stress and inflammation in AngII-induced hypertensive mice via transcription factor EB to exert anti-hypertension effect

Linhua Deng et al.

Summary: Tianma Gouteng Decoction (TGD) has significant antihypertensive effects by reducing blood pressure, improving cardiac structure and function, and reversing vascular remodeling, possibly through inhibition of oxidative stress and inflammation, as well as up-regulation of transcription factor EB (TFEB) expression.

Juergen Grafeneder et al.

Summary: The study found that micellar curcumin has better bioavailability compared to native curcumin, but does not exhibit anti-inflammatory effects in the chosen model. However, subjects receiving micellar curcumin showed a significant reduction in PCSK9 concentrations after 7 days.

Nanostructured Lipid Carrier-Based Codelivery of Raloxifene and Naringin: Formulation, Optimization, In Vitro, Ex Vivo, In Vivo Assessment, and Acute Toxicity Studies

Abdulsalam Alhalmi et al.

Summary: This study successfully developed dual drug-loaded nanostructured lipid carriers (RLX/NRG NLCs) for breast cancer treatment. The optimized RLX/NRG NLCs showed improved drug encapsulation and release properties, as well as enhanced permeation and antioxidant effects compared to the RLX/NRG suspension. These findings have important implications for improving the medicinal performance of poorly soluble and poorly permeable drugs.
