?-shaped fiber optic LSPR biosensor based on mismatched hybridization chain reaction and gold nanoparticles for detection of circulating cell-free DNA

Wei Ning et al.

Summary: In this study, an omega-shaped fiber optic localized surface plasmon resonance (FO-LSPR) biosensor based on hybridization chain reaction (HCR) coupled with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was developed for simple and sensitive detection of cfDNA. The biosensor exhibited high sensitivity with a detection limit of 14.0 pM, making it a potential strategy for biomedical analysis and disease diagnosis.

Sensitive and selective DNA detecting electrochemical sensor via double cleaving CRISPR Cas12a and dual polymerization on hyperbranched rolling circle amplification

Juneseok You et al.

Summary: In this study, CRISPR Cas12a was introduced into an electrochemical sensor platform to enhance sensitivity and specificity for nucleic acid detection. By resolving the false positive issue of HRCA, the proposed method showed a high sensitivity of 10 aM and overcame false positivity problems. The electrochemical sensor detected a decrease in the redox signal by measuring the change in surface coverage by DNA.

High sensitivity and fast response optical fiber nucleic acid sensor

Changyu Shen et al.

Summary: This study proposed a label-free optical fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) based biosensor for the specificity detection of single-stranded nucleic acid (NA). The MZI was made of a fiber sandwich structure by core-offset fusion splicing. By chemically modifying the optical fiber surface and fixing the single-stranded probe NA with a known sequence using the covalent fixation method, the specificity of complementary target NA could be detected through the changing of the MZI spectra.

Thermal Regeneration of Tilted Bragg Gratings UV Photo-Inscribed in Hydrogen-Loaded Standard Optical Fibers

Nazila Safari Yazd et al.

Summary: Thermal regeneration of tilted Bragg gratings using UV lasers and different annealing profiles results in efficient regeneration in the temperature range of 850-900 degrees Celsius. The regenerated gratings show a sensitivity to the surrounding refractive index comparable to non-regenerated gratings.
