Improved Charge Transfer for NO2 Gas Sensors by Using 0D SnS Quantum Dot/2D WSe2 Heterostructures

Li-Hsin Cheng et al.

Summary: A highly sensitive sensor was fabricated by integrating two-dimensional WSe2 nanosheets with zero-dimensional SnS quantum dots through liquid-phase exfoliation and wet chemical synthesis. The formed WSe2/SnS heterostructures exhibited cyclic and reproducible high gas sensing response, with SnS acting as a gas adsorption layer and WSe2 acting as a carrier conduction layer. The incorporation of SnS in WSe2 increased charge transfer across the active sites, resulting in a highly sensitive response to NO2 gas.

Utkarsh Kumar et al.

Summary: This study reports the synthesis of colloidal quantum dots of lead sulfide (PbS) via the hot injection method and their application as a room temperature real-time O3 sensor. The PbS quantum dots were found to easily absorb and desorb ozone molecules at room temperature, and the response and recovery time were not affected by visible light irradiation. The sensing response was highest under fluorescent lamp irradiation, with a detection limit of 1.34 ppb.
