ZIP10 drives osteosarcoma proliferation and chemoresistance through ITGA10-mediated activation of the PI3K/AKT pathway

Hongyu Li et al.

Summary: The study revealed that ZIP10 drives OS proliferation and chemoresistance through ITGA10-mediated activation of the PI3K/AKT pathway, which might serve as a target for OS treatment.

Circular RNA circ_001422 promotes the progression and metastasis of osteosarcoma via the miR-195-5p/FGF2/PI3K/Akt axis

Bingsheng Yang et al.

Summary: This study identified a novel circRNA, circ_001422, which is abundantly expressed in osteosarcoma (OS) and promotes tumor progression. Higher expression of circ_001422 was associated with advanced clinical stage, larger tumor size, higher incidence of distant metastases, and poorer overall survival in OS patients. Mechanistically, circ_001422 modulates the miR-195-5p/FGF2/PI3K/Akt axis to enhance the malignant characteristics of OS cells.

NETO2 promotes esophageal cancer progression by inducing proliferation and metastasis via PI3K/AKT and ERK pathway

Jia-cheng Xu et al.

Summary: Our study revealed that high expression of NETO2 in ESCC patients was associated with tumor staging and lymph node metastasis, promoting ESCC progression through enhancing cell proliferation, suppressing apoptosis, and stimulating tumor growth. Additionally, NETO2 was found to play a crucial role in regulating migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition in ESCC cells. Mechanistically, NETO2 activated ERK, PI3k/AKT, and Nrf2 signaling pathways, with Nrf2 identified as a critical downstream mediator responsible for tumorigenesis. This suggests that NETO2 may serve as a potential therapeutic target or prognostic biomarker for ESCC patients.
