Continuous broadband tunable Pr3+:LiYF4 laser in the near-infrared spectral range

Zhuang Li et al.

Summary: We present a continuously broadband tunable Pr3+:LiYF4 (Pr:YLF) laser in the near-infrared spectra range pumped by InGaN laser diodes (LDs). The upper energy level of the laser utilizes composite energy levels (3P0,1,1I6). The laser achieves a continuous tuning range of 855 nm to 931 nm (width of 77 nm) for pi-polarization and 850 nm to 912 nm (width of 63 nm) for sigma-polarization, with absorbed pumped power of approximately 9 W at 444 nm. The laser also demonstrates the highest tuning power and widest continuous tuning range to date, with the ability to generate thirteen new wavelengths in the Pr:YLF crystal.

522 nm single-longitudinal-mode high-frequency Pr3+:YLF laser based on pre-lase Q-switching technology

Meng Jiang et al.

Summary: In this study, a single-longitudinal-mode pulsed laser that can emit directly into the green spectral region at 522 nm is demonstrated for the first time using pre-lase Q-switching technology. The output characteristics of the laser are obtained through simulation, showing a peak power of 37.9 W under an incident pump power of 12 W at 444 nm. At a repetition frequency of 20 kHz, the laser pulse energy and pulse width were measured to be 3.05 mu J and 80.5 ns, respectively, with a spectral linewidth of approximately 22 MHz.

Visible solid-state lasers based on Pr3+and Tb3+

Hiroki Tanaka et al.

Summary: This article reviews the current state of continuous wave and pulsed visible solid-state lasers and amplifiers based on Pr3+ and Tb3+ as the active ion. It discusses the spectroscopic properties of these ions, suitable host materials, and the prospects for power scaling. Visible solid-state lasers have wide-ranging applications, but they are still in an early stage of development.

Power scaling of diode-pumped Pr:YLF lasers in the 910 nm spectral range

Zhuang Li et al.

Summary: We reported a high-power continuous-wave infrared laser based on InGaN laser diode pumping of Pr3+: LiYF4 (Pr: YLF). The laser achieved watt-level output powers in the 910 nm spectral range for the first time, with maximum powers of 2.4 W at 915 nm and 2.2 W at 907 nm. The negative thermal lensing in Pr: YLF successfully explained the quadratic dependencies of output powers on absorbed pump power for both wavelengths.

Hongmei Li et al.

Summary: This paper reports the achievement of single-frequency laser output in the deep red light wavelength band using double Fabry-Perot cavity and Pr: YLF crystal. By selecting an appropriate thickness of the F-P cavity, the solid-state laser achieved satisfactory output power and efficiency, laying a foundation for the application of SLM deep red laser.

Single-Frequency Nd3+-Doped Phosphate Fiber Laser at 915 nm

Shijie Fu et al.

Summary: In this experiment, a single-frequency distributed Bragg reflector fiber laser at 915 nm was achieved using a 2.5-cm Nd3+-doped phosphate fiber, resulting in an output power of 13.5 mW at an absorbed pump power of 240 mW. The experimental results indicate that Nd3+-doped phosphate glass fiber is more efficient than Nd3+-doped silica glass fiber for single-frequency laser operation in the 900 nm wavelength range.

The performance optimization of Pr:YLF single longitudinal mode laser under the pre-lase technology

Long Jin et al.

Summary: In this study, an evaluation model for optimizing system parameters was established using longitudinal-mode pre-lase selection technology. By solving the rate equation and calculating the evaluation function, the evaluation efficiency of a single-longitudinal-mode operation was determined. The optimal condition for the characteristics of the single-longitudinal Q-switched laser was analytically calculated in detail, and the experimental results were consistent with the simulations.
