A series of novel poly(phthalazinone thioether sulfone/ketone)s were synthesized by nucleophilic substitution, and they showed good solubility and thermal stability.
A novel series of poly(phthalazinone thioether sulfone/ketone)s were prepared by nucleophilic substitution of 4-(4 '-thiolphenyl) phthalazinone with different di-halogen monomers. The achieved copolymers can dissolve in common organic solvents such as N,N-dimethylacetamide, N-methylpyrrolidone and chloroform at room tem-perature. The chemical structures of the copolymers were characterized by FT-IR and NMR , and their thermal properties were investigated by TGA and DSC. The results demonstrated that they have good thermal stability with the glass transition temperatures > 208 C-degrees and the 5 % weight loss temperatures in the range of 490-504 C-degrees.
