Thermodynamic irreversibility analysis of water conveying argentum and titania nanoparticles subject to inclined stretching surface

Mahnoor Sarfraz et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effects of buoyancy induced hybrid nanofluid flow on energy transport and thermodynamic irreversibility. The mixture of silver and titanium dioxide nanoparticles is used on a vertically inclined stretching surface. The study also reveals the potential applications of nanoparticles in energy storage and catalytic supports due to their higher thermal and electrical conductivities.

Heat generation/absorption effects in thermally radiative mixed convective flow of Zn-TiO2/H2O hybrid nanofluid

Muhammad Yasir et al.

Summary: Investigation on hybrid nanofluids shows their effectiveness as heat transfer fluids for industrial applications, with nanoparticles' thermal conductivity, particle volume fractions, and mass flow rates playing a major role in enhancing heat transfer. This article aims to analyze the flow of Zn-TiO2/H2O hybrid nanofluid past an inclined shrinking surface and numerically solve the problem using Matlab software. The study reveals the impacts of controlling parameters on fluid velocity, temperature distribution, skin friction coefficient, and local Nusselt number, showing that mixed convection parameter, heat sink/source, Eckert number, and temperature ratio influence the fluid flow and thermal distribution.

Numerical study of axisymmetric hybrid nanofluid MgO-Ag/H2O flow with non-uniform heat source/sink

Muhammad Yasir et al.

Summary: The physical properties of hybrid nanoparticles, including physical strength, mechanical resistance, chemical stability, and thermal conductivity, are better than individual nanofluids. The thermal performance of hybrid nanofluids has been extensively studied, and a mathematical model is formulated to analyze their heat transmission. Numerical studies on magnetized flow of nanofluid MgO/H2O and hybrid nanofluid MgO-Ag/H2O are carried out, showing that the thermal conductivity of hybrid nanofluids is more effective and high suction strengths enhance the heat transfer but increase friction drag.

Application of hybrid nanofluids in a novel combined photovoltaic/thermal and solar collector system

Arash Kazemian et al.

Summary: A novel combined photovoltaic thermal system is proposed to solve the low outflow temperature and lack of electrical production drawbacks in conventional systems. The performance of different hybrid nanofluids is compared, and it is found that the multiwall carbon-silicon carbide hybrid nanofluid has the best performance. Moreover, the components of the solar collector in the combined system produce more entropy generation.

Significance of ethylene glycol-based CNT Homann nanofluid flow over a biaxially stretching surface

Mahnoor Sarfraz et al.

Summary: In this study, the electromagnetically conducting flow of carbon nanotubes suspension immersed with ethylene glycol on stretching surfaces was analyzed to investigate its thermal transport characteristics. It was found that increasing the nanofluid volume fraction leads to more chaotic and unpredictable interactions between particles, enhancing the fluid velocities and thermal transport.

Exploration of the dynamics of ethylene glycol conveying copper and titania nanoparticles on a stretchable/shrinkable curved object: Stability analysis

Muhammad Yasir et al.

Summary: This study investigates the stability analysis of a base fluid conveying copper and titania nanoparticles on a stretchable/shrinkable curved object. The effects of non-linear radiation and heat source/sink parameters are considered. The study highlights the importance of these nanocomposites, where copper increases porosity and titania acts as a photocatalyst. The findings show that the shrinking and suction parameters affect the skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number, while the radiation parameter enhances the heat transfer rate.

Estimation of dual branch solutions for Homann flow of hybrid nanofluid towards biaxial shrinking surface

Muhammad Yasir et al.

Summary: This study investigates the properties of an electro-magnetically conducting flow of zinc-oxide and multiwalled carbon nanotubes suspension submerged in engine oil on a biaxially, planarly, and perpendicularly stretching/shrinking surface. The results show that the motional electromagnetic force of the magnetic field drives the increase of energy transfer rate, while the decrease in velocity leads to an increase in skin friction.

Hall and ion slip effects on magnetohydrodynamic convective rotating flow of Jeffreys fluid over an impulsively moving vertical plate embedded in a saturated porous medium with Ramped wall temperature

M. Veera Krishna et al.

Summary: "The theoretical study investigates the effects of Hall and ion slip on the unsteady MHD rotating flow of a Jeffreys fluid over a vertically moving plate in a porous medium with a ramped temperature profile. Results show that the velocity increases with Hall and ion slip parameters, while magnetic field, Jeffreys fluid, and Prandtl number have a reverse effect. Thermal buoyancy forces, radiation, and mass diffusion also influence the velocity and concentration distributions. Nusselt number decreases with thermal radiation but increases over time, while Sherwood number increases with Schmidt number at the plate but decreases over time."

Summary: This study investigates the efficient provision of radiative intensity with high directional resolution in non-gray gases and particles medium through comparing the DRESOR and DOM methods in two combustion cases. It is found that a higher directional resolution is needed for non-isothermal cases with the DRESOR method showing significantly higher computational efficiency when choosing a high directional resolution scheme.

Dual solutions for Casson hybrid nanofluid flow due to a stretching/shrinking sheet: A new combination of theoretical and experimental models

Seyed Mahdi Mousavi et al.

Summary: This study investigates the two-dimensional MHD Casson flow past a linearly stretching/shrinking sheet with suction, radiation, and convective boundary condition effects by employing experimental relations to approximate the effective thermophysical properties of a water/MgO-Ag hybrid nanofluid. It also considers dual solutions and stability analysis, demonstrating the importance of selective experimental relations in future numerical modeling of hybrid nanofluids. Results show an enhancement of the Casson fluid parameter range with increasing radiation parameter, suction parameter, and second nanoparticle mass, as well as the acceleration of similarity velocity profiles in the hydrodynamic boundary layer due to a magnetic field applied normal to the sheet.

Advancement of Non-Newtonian Fluid with Hybrid Nanoparticles in a Convective Channel and Prabhakar's Fractional Derivative-Analytical Solution

Muhammad Imran Asjad et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the impact of nanoparticles in non-Newtonian fluid flow between two parallel plates, using a fractional operator to model memory effects and obtaining analytical solutions for temperature and velocity fields. A parametric study shows the influence of flow parameters and predicts dual solutions for different timescales. Increasing nanoparticle concentration raises temperature and lowers velocity, while the fractional approach provides new insights for analytical solutions.
