Does the Internet Reduce Gender Gaps? The Case of Jordan

Summary: The spread of digital technologies has a significant impact on female labor force participation in Jordan, especially for unmarried women. The internet adoption makes it easier for women to engage in online job search and employment activities, particularly for older and more educated women. Additionally, the internet also reduces traditional social norms among married women to some extent.
